Guild Mission
The mission of our guild is to:
- enhance the knowledge of quilting within the group and the community
- preserve quilting as an art form
- establish, maintain and upgrade quilting standards
- to encourage an exchange of ideas and methods
- participate in community projects
We do this by bringing talented and creative quilt designers as speakers and to teach their special skills in workshops; by providing access to a large library of quilting and quilt-related books, magazines, and videos; by putting people together who share a passion for quilting in a warm and open environment at our monthly meetings and other scheduled events; and by hosting challenges, charity quilting bees, quiltshows and many other events and activities which provide opportunities for members to expand their knowledge and skills.
Meet our Guild!
The York Heritage Quilters Guild was formed in 1979 with about ten members. In just over twenty years we've grown to 450 members. Membership has been capped due to space restrictions, but when members move away, we are able to invite new participants. We have a waiting list for these spaces, but even as a visitor you are able to attend most meetings and sign up for classes, space permitting. Please contact the guild by emailing info@yhqg.org
Meeting Dates and Location
Our guild meetings are held on the 3rd Tuesday of each month, from September to May (excluding December). We meet at:
From time to time we are required to schedule our meeting on a different date, or in a different location. Please check your newsletter or the website calendar for any changes to the schedule.
