Gloria Loughman
Gloria Loughman is a celebrated author and quilt artist from Australia. We are very excited to have her join us for four days in November. She is known for her large vivid landscape quilts depicting the Australian landscape. Gloria began her quilting career with traditional patchwork quilting, including strip piecing, bargello, colour wash, fabric dyeing and painting and machine embroidery, but after completing studies in design and colour as part of a Diploma in Fine Art, she began to make quilts that reflect the Australian landscape and its vegetation. Her exquisite quilts have won many major awards in Australia, Europe, Japan and the United States. Gloria loves to share her knowledge, skills and passion for quilting with others and is very much in demand as a teacher. Her book Luminous Landscapes: Quilted Visions in Paint and Threads was published by C&T Plublishing in 2007. Don't miss this opportunity to learn from a very interesting quilter from down-under!

Optional kits will include patterns and hand painted and dyed fabric, and will be available for those who desire.

Based on the skills used to create "Kimberley Mystique" (see Gloria's web site), the wall quilts produced in this workshop will definitely be one of a kind!
