Carol Taylor

Pittsford, New York

Internationally known, award-winning quilt artist, Carol Taylor, has created over 475 quilts since she began quilting in 1993. Vibrant colors, striking contrasts, heavy machine quilting and embroidery distinguish Carol's quilts.

Carol has won six "Best of Show" awards in her career…with six different quilts! Her quilts have been juried into countless exhibits, travelling shows and collections. Carol has also won a myriad of awards at quilt shows. This includes an amazing 15 major prizes in 2006, 22 in 2005, and 17 in 2004. She has won a number of first prizes and awards for the Best Use of Color and Best Threadwork, at the American Quilters' Society in Paducah KY, the International Quilt Association in Houston, TX, and gallery shows.

A teacher by degree, and outgoing by nature, she has been a sales recruiter ("headhunter") for 22 years and just closed her business in October 2003 to quilt full time. Her quilting classes are said to be "fun, motivational, and non-threatening."
