Renske Helmuth
Renske was born in Holland but has lived in
Moorefield, Ontario since 1972. She had a strong background in various types
of needlework but was introduced to quilting after arriving in Canada. Her
hand-appliqued quilts have won many awards. She enjoys working with wired
ribbon and experiments with different flower shapes for her pieces.

Renske recently won the President's Award for Excellence in Appliqué, Outstanding Traditional Large Wallquilt and the Viewer's Choice award at the 2004 CQA/ACC National Juried Show, with the "Critter Quilt", seen below.
