YHQG Block of the Month

Ruti Snell is co-ordinating the block-of-the-month for the 2010-2011 guild year.

Jelly Rolls

Have you ever wondered what to do with those colourful "jelly rolls" on display in the quilt shops. This year you will have an opportunity to try different blocks using a jelly rolls (fabric pre-cut into 2.5 inch strips) or you can cut your fabric into 2.5inch strips and then follow Ruti's instructions.

The blocks will be very easy, so everyone can do them without a huge time commitment. With lots of blocks returned, the quilts will be varied and spectacular. The first block is due at the September meeting. Be sure to attach a piece of paper to the block with your name on it.

At each meeting when you submit your block, your name is entered into the draw to win all the blocks submitted that month. The draw is made during the meeting.

The pattern for the month's block is contained in the Newsletter. You can retrieve the current month's block and past block patterns by going to the Newletter tab on the navigation bar at the top of this page and then, selecting the month from the list.
