Welcome to York Heritage Quilters Guild - "A Celebration of Quilts XI"

The roots of quilting lie in a practical need for warmth addressed by women's ability to craft beautiful patterns using scraps of fabric that had often come from out-grown clothing or home linens. But quilting has since been recognized as an art form - it is no longer only found in bedrooms but now hangs proudly on home walls and even in major art galleries. Our theme for the 11th quilt show is ART FOR BODY & SOUL, speaking to both tradition and contemporary approaches to quilting. Our show will be a glorious display of colour, showcasing the expertise of a wide spectrum of YHQG artists engaged in their individual quilting pursuits. There will be a few exciting surprises as well, promising the best show ever presented by York Heritage Quilters Guild.
