Member Information

The members of York Heritage Quilter's Guild are a diverse group of people who love making quilts of all kinds. There are inexperienced and experienced quilters alike, and all have a place in Celebration of Quilts X. This is an opportunity to showcase your work, whether it is your first quilt or your fiftieth. We hope you have submitted your quilt or fabric creation, whether large or small, whether for the bed or the wall, the body or the booty - if it's made by you, it deserves to be displayed where your family and friends can admire your work.

On this page, you'll find all the information you need to participate in A Celebration of Quilts X: submitting a quilt to hang in the main show, making a mini quilt for the Silent Auction, making and selling Gift Shop items and information about volunteering at the show.

Submitting a Quilt

The deadline for submitting a quilt to the show has passed; by now you'll be working away on your quilts and have your checklist close at hand. You can still access the Entry Package by clicking here on Entry Package. The Entry Package consists of:

  1. Show Checklist:
Use this handy checklist to make certain that nothing is overlooked in completing your entries. Keep track of key dates and critical information for submitting your quilt for display at Celebration of Quilts X. Please follow these instructions for each entry. For further information contact Dorothy Fu or Jeannie Collins-Ardern or see them at the Celebration of Quilts X table at the General Meetings.

  3. Entry Form:
Deadline for the Entry Form and photographs was Monday June 16, 2008.
  4. Instructions for sewing a sleeve on the back of your quilt:
Two methods for sewing on your sleeve are outlined and illustrated in this document.

Silent Auction Participant Information

The Silent Auction was so successful at the last Quilt Show that A Celebration of Quilts X will again be running this event. Please consider making a mini quilt (perimeter not greater than 60") for this worthwhile event. It's fun for visitors and provides great excitement during the show. The proceeds from the Silent Auction will be donated to Assaulted Women's Helpline, a very worthy cause. If you wish to make a mini quilt for the auction, please print and fill out the form below Intent to Contribute. If you've already submitted your Intent to Contribute form, and have completed your quilt, click on the Silent Auction form Mini Quilt Donation in the link below. You'll need to print it, fill it out and attach it to your mini quilt. Please drop off your donation to Carole Tullis at the Celebration of Quilts X table at the General Meetings.
