Founders Award
Ann Sutherland (Level III #6) Shadows & Sunshine-Like Night and Day.
The Founders Award was established on the occasion of our Guild’s 25th anniversary in honour of our founding members. It acknowledges the best interpretation of the challenge theme. A cash prize accompanies this award. It is open to all entrants but can only be won once by any Guild member.
The challenge theme was "Like Night and Day". The challenge fabrics are shown below - they had to appear on the front of the work and be recognizable. If you would like to see the rules for this challenge, click the Entry Document. The quilts were displayed at the May meeting and prizes were awarded. The YHQG challenge is always a very exciting way to end the season, and it was amazing to see the variety of quilts that members produced using the same fabrics and theme!
YHQG is very grateful to Pattie Carey and Northcott Silk Inc. for the generous donation of our challenge fabrics, which are from two current collections: Califon Mark Lapinski’s Home Collection # 3003, # 3005 and Mark Lapinski’s Krakow Collection 3014.
